At that time, people used to line hymns and used to go over those hymns in a call and a reply like fashion. Quite on the other side, another type of spiritual music from the African slaves came by. These slaves were tortured by their masters; hence, they started to take a way out in worship for greater Lord and started their own worship hymns.
1900 – 1930s. During this time the gospel music exhibited the social changes that were occurring throughout the United States of America, as the blacks were moving from the South to various areas of the country and were accompanied with their own gospel music.
